Neck Pain

Neck pain is a common problem, affecting 10-20% of the population.  The vast majority of neck pain is a result of problems with the spine in the neck (the cervical spine), the discs of the spine, or the supporting structures of the spine (muscles, ligaments, and tendons).  This most often occurs due to injuries in the spine of the neck, degeneration of the spine in the neck, or muscle tension and strain.   In very rare cases, neck pain can come from things like a tumor, infection, pain referred from an organ, or some other inflammatory process.   Fortunately, most cases of neck pain are related to the muscles of the neck and upper back, the joints of the spine, or the discs of the spine.  These cases often respond very well to chiropractic care along with medical interventions like trigger point injection therapies.

Treatment for Necl Pain

Treatment of neck pain begins with a trained healthcare professional specializing in the spine and the musculoskeletal system.  Here at Vivify Health & Wellness we will focus on determining the cause of your pain and help to formulate the best plan of treatment.  This diagnosis begins with meeting with your doctor in our clinic who will obtain a detailed history from you and perform a physical examination of your condition.  Sometimes x-rays or other advanced imaging are indicated.  At times, your doctor here at Vivify will perform a specialized test to diagnose an injured nerve called an EMG with NCS testing.
